Traffic Officer appeared in court for the murder of his girlfriend

A 34- year-old Limpopo Traffic Officer Kabelo Peter Duba arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday 04 September 2023. The case is postponed to 15 September 2023 for formal bail application and further Police investigations.

Duba is facing charges of murder, unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition, theft of the deceased’s cellphone and defeating the ends of justice.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said Duba, attached to the Polokwane Provincial Traffic, was arrested on Thursday 24 August 2023 at his homestead in Penina Park Polokwane, by members of the Provincial Murder and Robbery and Tracking Team. “This is after he was positively linked with the incident in which the body of an unknown woman was found dumped under a bridge at Chuenespoort in Lebowakgomo Policing precinct on Thursday 17  August 2023”.

Leswaba said during the arrest, the Police recovered an unlicensed firearm with ammunition as well as some exhibits.

“The woman was later identified as 26-year-old Kedidimetse Moche who was a student at The Tshwane University Of Technology (TUT) Polokwane Campus”.

Police investigation continues.
