Three suspects aged between 29 and 32 arrested for cases of kidnapping and business robberies will appear before Ritavi Magistrate’s Court, on Thursday, 10 August 2023. The suspects were arrested after being positively linked with cases of kidnapping and business robberies that occurred at Ritavi Policing area during March and July this year.
Limpopo Police Spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said in one of the incidents reported, on 08 July 2023, the victim who is a woman, was kidnapped at Khopho village outside her shop by suspects driving in a Toyota Quantum. “A ransom amount of money was paid to the suspects. Police were notified and investigations were activated”.
Ledwaba added that In another incident that occurred on 23 March 2023, the suspects driving a purple VW Polo robbed the owner of a supermarket in Mohlaba Cross. “The owner was also kidnapped”.
His family was contacted and paid a ransom amount. Police were notified about the incident for further investigation.
After these incidents, the Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebeordered a team of investigators to trace and arrest the suspect.
“The suspects might be linked to more cases as investigations unfold”. The Police investigations are still continuing.
