A 48-year-old foreign national, Peter Aji Ekemah abandoned his bail application and a warrant for his arrest was issued. Ekemah was arrested by Piet Retief Station Commander and his team during an intelligence-driven operation, on 9 June 2023 for dealing in drugs.
Warrant Officer Thandi Tshabalala of Mpumalanga police said the accused was found with methamphetamine, methcathinone and cocaine in his possession with an estimated street value of R400 000-00.
“The accused appeared in the Piet Retief Magistrate Court on 23 June 2023 for formal bail application and his application was abandoned as it was discovered that he was linked with five more incidents of dealing in drugs offences under investigation by the Secunda based Organised Crime Investigation”.
The case is postponed to 05 July 2024 for a new attorney and possible formal bail application.
