North West Premier, Kaobitsa Bushy Maape has congratulated Tete Dijana for successfully defending his Comrades Marathon Championship and setting a new Down Run Record.
Dijana who hails from Lonely Park village in Mahikeng has been running from an early age. He is employed as a security guard at the Mahikeng Campus of the North West University and took leave to amplify his preparations for the 2023 Comrades marathon.
Premier Maape has described Tete Dijana as a paragon of long-distance road running. “We congratulate Dijana for putting the North West province on the map once more by winning the Comrades Marathon and breaking the down-run record.
The province will from tomorrow, Monday 12 June 2023 begin to implement plans to give Dijana and other runners from the province a heroes welcome
