A decomposed body of an unknown man retrieved from a river

The Police in Tubatse in Sekhukhune District are appealing to the Community to come forward and assist in identifying the body of unknown man retrieved from Alverton river . The body was retrieved by the Provincial  Search and Rescue Unit on Tuesday, 21 March 2023 at about 17:00.

Limpopo Police spokesperson  Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said according to the information police received a report about a body that was seen floating in the river by community members who were fishing. “The Search and Rescue unit was activated. The team commenced with the search and managed to retrieve the body which was in an advanced state of decomposition. The cause of the incident is not yet established.  An inquest docket has been opened for further Investigation”. 

Colonel Malesela said relatives or families who are missing their loved one are urged to come forward with a view to assist Police investigations by contacting Investigating Officer Lieutenant Colonel Livingstone Mulaudzi on 0826994961 or Crime Stop number at 0860010111 or the nearest Police Station.  The Police investigations are continuing.
