The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government says it is forced to respond to the false rumours being spread on social media regarding its support for the dignified send-off of  Kwaito and Gqom Star Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo.

In a statement released on Tuesday night, the KZN government said it regrets arise from the fact that the family is still in a period of mourning.

“As a transparent and accountable government, we wish to clarify that the support provided by the Provincial Government to the family is as follows: Office of the Premier R170 000.00  and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture R50 000.00”.

It reiterated that the falsehood being peddled about R50 million is nothing more than a figment of imagination by those who are morally and spiritually bankrupt.
