Two accused foreign nationals, Joseph Onora Asa and Edmond Dadzi both aged 30 foreign nationals were remanded in custody by the Volksrust Magistrate Court on Wednesday, 26 October 2022 for attempted murder.
They were arrested during a multidisciplinary intelligent driven disruptive operation executed on Tuesday, 25 October 2022. Mpumalanga Hawks spokesperson Dineo Sekgotodi said this followed information about the wanted suspects sought for attempted murder,car hijacking, housebreaking and Theft cases.
“They were nabbed by the Hawks` Serious Organised Crime Investigation based in Secunda together with Crime Intelligent and K9 both from Secunda, as well as Detectives Volksrust and Local Criminal Recording Centre. The suspects were sought for a shooting incident between the two rival groups which happened on 18 September 2022 at Volksrust. After the shooting, an attempted murder case was registered against the suspects”.
The case is postponed to 14 November 2022 for formal bail.
