Police officer to appear in court for killing his wife

A 54-year-old Police Officer who allegedly shot and killed his wife aged 36 at Zone 08 in the Seshego policing area on Thursday 13 October 2022, is expected to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday 19 October 2022.

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said police were alerted about a shooting incident by community members.”Upon arrival at the scene, the suspect who is a Police Officer attached to Polokwane 10111 had already fled the scene. When the members entered the house they discovered that the suspect’s wife has been shot several times”.

The victim was certified dead on the scene. She was identified as Millicent Ntjana.The motive for the incident is not yet known but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.

Mojapelo said the suspect was arrested on Monday, 17 October 2022 after he handed himself to the police at Mogwadi,  in Dendron outside Senwabarwana.

Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has urged couples experiencing marital problems to seek help and refrain from resorting to violence, particularly members of the Police Service who must be protectors of society.
