Gauteng Legislature on Thursday elected Panyaza Lesufi as the new premier. He beat Democratic Alliance’s Solly Msimanga who accepted the nomination for this post. Lesufi got 38 votes while Msimanga received 22.

Msimanga said Gauteng residents can look forward to more of the same type of service delivery from Premier Panyaza Lesufi. “As the Democratic Alliance (DA), we do not expect Lesufi to do anything different. Gauteng residents will continue to suffer under the leadership of the ANC. Corruption will continue unabated, and there will be no value for money when tenders are awarded”.

Meanwhile, in his acceptance speech, Lesufi said he is grateful for the support he received from ANC.
