The Democratic Alliance says it rejects President Cyril Ramaphosa’s continued backing of Police Minister Bheki Cele in the face of an out-of-control crime crisis, desperately under-resourced SAPS and Cele’s “personal outbursts” that characterise him as grossly incompatible with the high office he holds.
The DA thus announced a mass march to the office of Bheki Cele on Tuesday,06 August 2022 demanding that he must go. “Enough is enough”!
The march will be led by the Leader of the DA, John Steenhuisen and the DA’s Shadow Minister of Police, Andrew Whitfield, but also by civil society including the Director of Community Safety at Action Society, Ian Cameron.
