Two teenage boys and one girl were confirmed dead after a bakkie they were travelling in lost control due to suspected reckless driving on the R81 road next to Xikukwani on Saturday night. The only survivor has been transported to Nkhensani Hospital for medical attention.
Limpopo Transport Spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said traffic officials and the police have attended to and cleared scene. “Motorists are however still advised to drive with caution”.
Meanwhile, Limpopo Transport and Community Safety MEC, Polly Boshielo sent condolences to the bereaved families. “This is the second accident in Mopani District that has claimed lives over this weekend, which is a cause for concern. We continue to plead with motorists to obey the rules of the road, for them to arrive alive at their respective destinations”.
