Senior Officials arrested for R3.5 Million bribe allegations

A senior Eastern Cape government official and two others have been arrested by the Investigating Directorate and the Eastern Cape SAPS Anti-Corruption Unit. The trio is expected to appear at the East London Magistrates’ Court on Monday 23 May 2022.

Investigating Directorate National Spokesperson Sindisiwe Seboka said the gang was arrested in connection with bribery allegations linked to investigations into a National SAPS furniture tender valued at over R36 million. The accused were arrested on Saturday, 21 May in Pretoria and Port Elizabeth.
