Seven more people died of Coronavirus in South Africa over the last 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 100 523. The country recorded 5,486 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 61,812 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3,679,053 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 95.8% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3,841,388 positive cases. So far, 24,675,963 tests have been conducted.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
