Following startling allegations that KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala had a water tanker filling up his tanks with water that was supposed to be distributed to the needy people, the National Freedom Party (NFP) is calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to act.
NFP Secretary-General Canaan Mdletshe said Premier Zikalala had no reason whatsoever to act and behave in a manner that demonstrate he is “drunken with power.”
“For him to have allegedly directed a water tanker to his house instead of distributing water to the needy and vulnerable people in and around Durban is scandalous. Not that we were expecting any difference from Zikalala as ANC and scandals are one”.
Mdletshe reiterated that clearly, Zikalala used his power and authority as a leader and the Premier of the province to his advantage.”He must be removed before billions of rands are allocated to KZN as part of humanitarian relief.”
He further said Zikalala’s behaviour is worrying, to say the least. “He is demonstrating to the entire country what will happen with the funds. Instead of going to the assistance of the people, the money is most likely to be diverted and pocketed by ANC cronies and thieves.”
