The Media Development Diversity Agency ( MDDA) announced on Wednesday that it has accepted a request by its CEO, Zukiswa Potye to refer a dispute regarding her compatibility with the Board of MDDA, to the CCMA for arbitration. The Board on the 1st of April 2022 unanimously agreed that Potye should be placed on precautionary suspension pending the finalisation of the enquiry. Potye joined MDDA in January 2020.
“The MDDA CEO has accordingly been suspended with effect from Tuesday 05 April 2022.The Board will endeavour to conclude the matter expeditiously in the interest of all parties involved.”
The agency said in the interim, Mzuvukile Kashe, the current Executive Manager has been appointed acting CEO to ensure that the daily operations of the organisation are not negatively affected.
