South Africa recorded no Covid-19 deaths over the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths is 99 275. The country recorded 671 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 18 112 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3 577 388 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 96.8% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 695 175 positive cases. So far, 23 424 639 tests have been conducted.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
