Three more people died of Coronavirus in South Africa over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 99 712. The country recorded 1 571 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 20 351 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3 573 469 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 96.7% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 698 352 positive cases. So far, 23 392 502 tests have been conducted.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
