South Africa recorded no Covid-19 deaths over the last 24 hours. The country recorded 1 147 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 24 559 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3 560 217 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 96.6% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 684 319 positive cases. So far, 23 245 373 tests have been conducted.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
