Fifty more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 98 667. The country recorded 1 456 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 37 148 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3 522 732 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 96.3% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 658 547 positive cases. So far, 22 880 879 tests have been conducted.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
