Fifty-seven more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 97 250. The country recorded 1 094 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 37 406 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3 508 249 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 96.3% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 634 811 positive cases. So far, 22 693 253 tests have been conducted.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
