Two hundred and three more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 96 705. The country recorded 3 169 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 44 090 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3 634 811 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 96.1% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 634 811 positive cases. So far, 22 591 175 tests have been conducted.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
