Taxi Association chairperson murdered

A 53-year-old man, Monageng Solomon Ledwaba, who was reportedly the Santaco Taxi Association Chairperson was shot and killed. His bullet riddled body was discovered inside his vehicle at the Seshego Circle Center on Sunday 30 January 2022 at about 17:20.

Limpopo Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said preliminary police investigations revealed that the victim was sitting in his parked motor vehicle next to the traffic lights behind the Seshego Circle Center when the unknown number of assailants approached in a white Toyota Fortuner without registration numbers and shot him multiple time before fleeing the scene.

“The motive behind the incident is not known at this stage but taxi violence cannot be ruled out.”

Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has appealed to community members to provide valuable information that can lead to the arrest of the assailants
