A 40-year old man, originally from Eastern Cape Province abandoned his bail application at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court on Friday. The accused is facing two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, and four counts of kidnaping.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) North Gauteng Spokesperson Lumka Mahajana said it is allegded that on 18 January 2022, the accused killed two minor boys aged 5 and 11 and attempted to kill two more minor boys, aged 7 and 11. “The accused is a stepfather to one of the boys he attempted to kill, however, all four boys are related.”
The accused was arrested on 19 January 2022, at a taxi rank in Johannesburg while en route to Eastern Cape. The matter is postponed to 25 February 2022 for further investigations.
