Ntombenhle Ellan Hlophei appeared before the Evander District court on Monday 17 January 2022 for dealing in drugs. She was released on R2000 bail.
The defence argued that Hlophei is sixty years old and has been residing at her premises for the past 30 years. The defence also provided proof regarding the state health of the accused. She does not have any previous cases pending against her.
The Hawks in Secunda together with Crime Intelligence and K9 unit responded to information about a suspect allegedly dealing in drugs around Leandra on Friday, 14 January 2022.
Captain Dineo Sekgotodi of Mpumalanga Hawks said a disruptive search was executed and drugs (Nyaope) were found under the suspect’s bed. The case is postponed to 22 March 2022 for a forensic report and further investigation.
