Eighty-six more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last 24 hours and of these,25 occurred in the past 48 bringing the total deaths to 93 364. The country recorded 4 597 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 94 862 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 3 371 004 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 94.7% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 559 230 positive cases.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintaining social distance.
