A Warrant officer from Dennilton Police reported death as a result of police action. A police officer Seargent from Tweefontein shot his girlfriend, a Constable police officer from Middleburg SAPS and then after shot himself.
Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID)said this ordeal happened on Wednesday,29 December 2021 but the matter was not reported to IPID until Thursday night.
IPID spokesperson Grace Langa said both the Seargent and constable died at the scene at Dennilton area where the mother of a Constable reside. “Apparently they were husband and wife staying together at Tweefontein. The wife was visiting her mother when the husband followed her and killed her. It is not known what led to the husband acting the way he did.”
Langa added that IPID will open a Section 33 case failing to report as per IPID Act against the station. “Investigation will be conducted later by one of Its Limpopo supervisors/Managers as this case falls under Limpopo Province.”
