Twenty-four more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 90 172.The country recorded 23 884 new Covid-19 cases.
The Department of Health reported that 170 900 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 2 943 570 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 91.9% recovery rate. South Africa recorded 3 204 642 positive cases.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintain social distance.
