The police in Mpumalanga are investigating a case with two counts of murder after two bodies were discovered on Sunday morning, 05 December 2021 at Mataffin outside Nelspruit.

At around 08h35 police attended a scene after being informed of a bad smell coming from a certain house.

Mpumalanga Police Spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said when the police arrived at the said house they found a body of a 44 year-old-woman on the ground with a bed on top of her. “The victims head was covered with a plastic bag and a visible wound on her shoulder.”

Mohlala added that the neighbours further informed police that the woman was residing with her son and were both last seen on Thursday, 02 December 2021. The two were never heard of or seen since then. “The body of a 28-year-old man believed to be the woman’s son was also found at the house’s garage with stab wounds.”

Police request anyone with information that can assist in tracing the suspect /suspects to call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP.
