South Africa records 11 585 covid -19 cases

Forty-four more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 89 915. The country recorded 11 535 new Covid-19 cases.

The Department of Health reported that 47 382 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa. So far, 2 850 905 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to a 96.3% recovery rate. The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.

People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintain social distance.
