The Musina Regional Court on Tuesday 23 November 2021, sentenced a 28 year old man to life imprisonment after he was convicted for raping a 12 year old child during July of 2019.
The court found that on 27 July 2021 in the evening, while the victim was waiting for her sister at Tshiungani village under Muswodi policing area, the accused approached and threatened her with violence.
Limpopo Police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the accused then dragged the child into an abandoned house where he raped her. “The victim managed to escape and on her way home, she met her family members who were searching for her and she told them about the incident. The accused was arrested the following day.”
Limpopo Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded Sergeant Mbavhalelo Vhengani for the splendid job done in ensuring that the rapist is incarcerated for life.
