The Palm Ridge Specialised Crimes Court on Tuesday postponed BOSASA former Chief Operations Officer Angelo Agrizzi’ s R800 000 fraud case to 02 December 2021. This is after Agrizzi failed to appear before the court in over 9 months, citing ill health.
Investigating Directorate Spokesperson Sindisiwe Seboka said the court has issued a warrant for his arrest. “The court, through the state’s request, will acquire the services of an independent physician/ pulmonologist.”
Agrizzi stands accused of offering bribes on behalf of BOSASA to former Parliamentarian Vincent Smith in exchange for his influence, as the then chairperson of Parliament’s oversight committee on Correctional Services.
BOSASA scored contracts totalling just over R1 billion from Correctional Services between 2004 and 2007.
