Bodies of siblings found in the bushes

The bodies of Kamogelo Raphasha (7) and her younger sister Tshegofatso Raphasha (5) were on Tuesday evening, Tuesday 14 September 2021 at about 18h00 found by a passerby in the grazing camp next to gaMashalane village.

The two sisters went missing on Monday 23 August 2021 after they were reportedly last seen walking with their aunt who is said to be mentally challenged.

Limpopo Police Spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said the bodies were found lying in the bush and were already in a state of decomposition.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe thanked all role players, the police and members of the community for the efforts displayed during the frantic search of these siblings.

“We urge community members in the area to remain calm and give the investigations space to unfold unhindered”.

The post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death. Police investigations are continuing.
