Alleged business robbers to appear in Court

Two suspects, aged 21 and 24 are expected to appear before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 30 August 2021 on a charge of business robbery. They were arrested on Thursday, 27 August 2021, by members of the community at Extension 1, Boitekong for their alleged involvement in a business robbery.

Colonel Adéle Myburgh of North West Police said that was after the duo allegedly threatened the owner of a tuck shop with a knife and robbed him of cash, a cellular phone and a gambling machine. “Through the assistance of members of the community, the suspects were arrested shortly after the incident and handed over to the police.”

 North West Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Sello Kwena commended community members for their active involvement in apprehending the pair and handing them over to the police without any harm. “ police cannot solve crime successfully without the participation of law-abiding citizens.”
