North West Leader of Government Business and MEC for Finance, Motlalepula Rosho has been sworn in as the Acting Premier of North West.
This follows the resignation of Professor Job Mokgoro who submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature on Thursday.
In a statement released earlier, it highlighted that at its special sitting, the Executive Council unanimously designated MEC Motlalepula Rosho as the Acting Premier of the North West Province.
Spokesperson in the Premiers’ office, Brian Setswambung said accordingly, MEC Rosho, following her designation by the Executive Council, was sworn in as acting Premier by the Judge President, Ms M. Leeuw at a ceremony held in the Office of the Premier at 16h45 today and” was congratulated on her election as the Acting Premier of the North West Province.”
Earlier this month, the African National Congress (ANC) in North West said it welcomed the decision of the NEC to deploy Kaobitsa Bushie Maape as the Premier Elect of that province. The party said the process to deploy Maape followed the interviews of three candidates that were recommended to the national structures by the Interim provincial committee (IPC).
