The Tonga Magistrate Court on Friday remanded Lwazi Mabuza (30) in custody. He was arrested by members of the Hawks Serious Organised Crime Investigation Mpumalanga, Crime Intellegent and Tactical Response Team on Thursday 18 August 2021 in Shoshanguve, Pretoria following intelligent driven information. He was arrested for murder and attempted murder of Police officers who were attacked while on duty.
Captain Dineo Sekgotodi of Mpumalanga Hawks’ said two police officers sustained a gunshot whereby Constable Amos Thema(42) died because of injuries in the hospital.
The case against Mabuza is remanded to 24 August 2021 where he will be joined with his co-accused Hezekiel Knowledge Mngono who was remanded in custody on Tuesday, 17 August 2021.
