Gauteng MEC for Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure, Jacob Mamabolo, will on Monday 19 July 2021, engage the freight and logistics community in an effort to pursue collaborative partnerships that will ensure efficient, cost-effective and safe movement of freight and logistics in and out of the province.
The engagement forms part of the Department’s strategy of Growing Gauteng Together Through Smart Mobility which places freight and logistics at the heart of turning around the economy of the province.
“To achieve this goal, the Department is working on exploring and building sustainable, mutually-beneficial partnerships, as the nature of the sector requires these interventions throughout the entire value chain.”
The Department seeks to build the Gauteng City-Region as the premier inland terminal hub for the distribution of goods and services in the country, neighbouring states and the continent.
