The suspects will face charges ranging from possession and dealing in drugs, murder, attempted murder, rhino poaching, possession of illicit cigarettes, robberies, rape, sexual assault, robbery with a weapon other than a firearm to burglaries at both business and residential premises.
An intelligence-driven operation targeting the prevalence of drugs in Limpopo was conducted on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 June 2021 following the receipt of information about suspects using courier services to smuggle drugs.
Motlafela Mojapelo of Limpopo Police said this led to the arrest of four suspects aged between 45 and 52 and confiscation of 2 kilograms of Cocaine, 2.5 kilograms of Heroine and 100 grams of Crystal meth. “One of the suspects was arrested in Polokwane and the other three in Gauteng Province where some of the drugs were found. Two of the suspects are foreign nationals.”
Mojapelo added that on Saturday night 26 June 2021, a suspicious Mercedes Benz Vito was spotted around Beitbridge and was followed by the SAPS members .“The said vehicle then stopped at the Truck Park along the N1 road north of Musina and the police searched it. Sixty (60) boxes of Remington Gold illicit cigarettes were found and the two occupants arrested.”

The arrested suspects will appear in various magistrate courts across the Province.
