The Department of Health reported that 130 416 active Covid -19 cases have been identified in South Africa.
One hundred and sixty-six more people died of Coronavirus in the country over the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 59,258. The tests conducted to date is 12 703 421.
So far, 1 671 391 people in the country have recovered from covid-19 which translates to an 89.8 recovery rate.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintain social distance.
