More than 800 suspects arrested in Limpopo

The Police in Limpopo arrested  897 suspects during the ongoing operations that are being conducted across the Province. The suspects, aged between 27 and 54 were nabbed for various offences ranging from murder, business robberies, rape, burglaries, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles, possession and dealing in drugs.

The joint weekly operations were conducted from 12 June until Sunday morning,  20 June 2021. They comprised of Police units such as Crime Intelligence, Public Order Police Unit, Crime Prevention and other law enforcement agencies.

Motlafela Mojapelo of Limpopo Police said during these arrests, police confiscated 122 641 counterfeit cigarettes sticks, 15 dangerous weapons, 5 Firearms, 21 Knives, and 7 stolen vehicles.

“One thousand four hundred and thirty- one (1431) fines were issued. The suspects nabbed during these operations have already started appearing before different magistrate’s court across the province” added Mojapelo.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the police for ensuring that crime is prevented by all means in this province.
