ANC delegation to meet Harrismith representatives

The African National Congress (ANC) delegation committed to meet the representatives of the Greater Harrismith Community on Sunday the 20th of June 2021 to map a way forward and a roll out plan. This follows recent protest in that area.

The ANC, represented by the Head of the Presidency and the Free State Interim Provincial Leadership on Thursday, 17th of June 2021 met with a delegation of the Greater Harrismith Community to attend to a spade of demonstrations.

ANC Spokesperson Pule Mabe said the concerned community members brought to the attention of the ANC delegation amongst others, their concern on deteriorating levels of service delivery as well as the community’s desire to be delinked from the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality.

“The ANC delegation that have since given feedback to both the Presidency and Secretary General Office (SGO), characterised the engagements as being frank and honest”.

Mabe added that the ANC remains committed towards finding a long lasting solution and restoring normality in the area as is the case with all other communities with similar concerns throughout the country.
