Sixty-seven more people died of Coronavirus in South Africa over the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 56 832. Gauteng recorded 24 deaths, Free State 23, Northern Cape 3, Western Cape 8, and KwaZulu-Natal 5 and Eastern Cape 4.
The Country recorded 5 668 news cases. The number of Covid 19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 686 041.
The tests conducted to date is 11 800 313. The recovery now stands at 1 570 832 which translates to a 93.2% recovery rate.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintain social distance.
