The KwaZulu-Natal drug and firearm unit on Friday night arrested a man who was found in possession of 2500 blue and white empty capsules and 382,2grams of heroin powder. The Unit acted on the information of drugs being packaged at the premises in Morningside village.
Colonel Thembeka Mbele of KwaZulu-Natal Police said the drugs are valued at approximately R90000. “The suspect was detained in Mayville for Possession and dealing in drugs.”
Mbele said further investigation from Morningside village led members to the premises at Gateway flats, where another suspect was found in possession of 2kgs of cocaine powder wrapped in black and clear plastic wrapping.
“The street value of the drugs is R700 000. The suspect was detained at Durban north and charged for Possession and dealing in drugs.” She added that the total street value of the drugs recovered in the operation was R790 000.
All suspects will appear in Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday 31 May 2021 facing the same charges.
