Murder of an alleged house breaking suspect condemned

Mahikeng Police in North West Province request any information that can lead to the arrest of community members in Madibogopan village, who allegedly murdered a 19-year-old Tshepo Kgatitswe.

Sergeant Colin Lekwene said the incident occurred on Friday, 14 May 2021 at about 18:55 after his abduction was reported at Madibogo police station.

He said the police on duty rushed to the scene and were taken to a certain house at Madibogopan were Kgatiswe was found assaulted and fastened on a donkey cart.

”Emergency and Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) paramedics were summoned to the scene and they declared him dead on the scene.” Sergeant Lekwene added that during initial police questioning, it was alleged that Kgatiswe committed a house breaking.

The District Commissioner of Ngaka Modiri Molema, Mayor General Mmatlhapi Mmolawa, condemned this incident in the strongest possible terms. “We will not tolerate acts of lawlessness in our District where people take the law into their own hands. We will ensure that all alleged perpetrators are found and arrested”.

No one has been arrested at this stage. Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects is requested to contact the investigating officer, Constable Thabo Moremi on 082 569 1791 or contact the police station on 018 337 9168.
