Two men aged 46 and 32 are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates Court for illegal dealing in drugs on Thursday.
The Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime investigation team in Germiston received information regarding a suspicious package declared as traditional clothes at a courier company in Spartan, Kempton Park on Tuesday, 11 May 2021.
Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu said upon arrival, the investigation team together with SARS Customs authorities inspected and searched the package which was destined for Greece.
“ Inside the package which contained women’s clothes and handbags, police found powder suspected to be heroine weighing approximately 280grams concealed at the bottom, with an estimated street value of R80 000.”
Mulamu said the the suspects were immediately arrested and charged for illegal dealing in drugs.
