Fifty-nine more people died of Coronavirus in South Africa over the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 54 511. Gauteng recorded 21 deaths, Free State 3, Northern Cape 1, Western Cape 3, KwaZulu-Natal 4 and Limpopo 20.
The tests conducted to date is 10 739 813.The recovery now stands at 1 509 656 which translates to a 95% recovery rate.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintain social distance.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
