Thirty-eight more people died of Coronavirus in South Africa over the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 54 186. Gauteng recorded 3 deaths,Limpopo 5, Free State 5, Northern Cape 2, Eastern Cape 5, Western Cape 17, and KwaZulu-Natal 1.
The tests conducted to date is 10 545 817. The recovery now stands at 1 501 880 which translates to a 95% recovery rate.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintain social distance.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
