Seventy one more people died of Coronavirus in South Africa over the last 24 hours, bringing the total deaths to 54 066. Gauteng recorded 3 deaths, Free State 2, Northern Cape 2, North West 40, Eastern Cape 14, Western Cape 2, Mpumalanga 3 and KwaZulu-Natal 5.
The tests conducted to date is 10 481 576. The recovery now stands at 1 499 110 which translates to a 95% recovery rate.
People are urged to continue adhering to the health protocols put in place: washing hands with soap and water or alcohol-based sanitiser and always maintain social distance.
The health department conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thanked the health workers who treated the deceased.
