Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) managed to stop Mamelodi Sundowns “fire” in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday afternoon from Loftus Versfeld Stadium. Given the manner in which Sundowns has been playing this season, it was more predicted that it will be a walk in the park for the Tshwane. However, TTM had other plans and executed it perfectly.
The game plan was to hold Sundowns not to score and they did it well. Sundowns was knocked out of the tournament.
After playing 0 all in the 120 minutes of the game, it was then taken to the penalties.
It was man-of-the-match Washington Arubi goalkeeper of the TTM who stopped Hlompho Kekana’s penalty.
TTM players who scored their penalties are Lehlohonolo Nonyane‚ Alfred Ndengane‚ Joseph Molongoane‚ Edwin Madhanaga‚ Mogakolodi Ngele and Thembisani Nevhulamba. Meanwhile Sundowns’ scorers are Lyle Lakay‚ Sibusiso Vilakazi‚ Ricardo Nascimento‚ Thapelo Morena and Themba Zwane. Only Kekana missed it.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila will now play Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup final on May 8 2021, the venue is yet to be announced.
Both finalists are going to taste their first final of the tournament.
