Four people were murdered outside a tavern in Kwazakele, Gqeberha on Saturday 3 April 2021.

The Provincial Organised Crime Investigation in Gqeberha are on the hunt for two suspects allegedly involved in shooting  innocent people.

It is alleged that at about 20:15, a grey VW Polo (hatchback) with two males arrived at the tavern in Mjamba Street and started shooting randomly at the people outside.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu said three people, two males and a female were fatally injured while the fourth victim was gunned down while walking home from the tavern and was shot not far in another street, allegedly by the same suspects.

“He succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The motive for the shooting and the suspects are unknown at this stage.” Said Naidu.

Gqeberha Provincial Commissioner Liziwe Ntshinga has called on the community to take a stand and expose these criminals.

’I am appealing to the communities to assist the police in tracing these heartless criminals and not to harbour them. Innocent lives are lost and we cannot condone such lawlessness. This act of criminality we take seriously and it will not be tolerated.”

Anyone who can assist police in their murder investigation in tracking and tracing the suspects is asked to contact Colonel Willie Mayi on 082 697 5914 or Crime Stop 08600 10111.
