A 32- year-old attorney Reshay Ramsamy Naidoo on Tuesday handed himself over today to the National Commissioner’s Anti Corruption Task Team for his alleged involvement in the massive investigation into fraud and corruption.
This relates to the marking (branding) of SAPS vehicles, procurement of handcuffs & leg irons, outsourcing of vehicles from the SAPS garages, procurement of stationery, renovation of buildings. Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo said these investigations began in September 2018 which saw the arrest of 71 accused to date which included very high ranking police officers, businessmen and women.
“Almost every one of the SAPS employees has since been dismissed from the SAPS following their alleged involvement in these cases. The arrest of the attorney from Centurion, brings the total number of accused to 72, that have been arrested thus far.”
The suspect is alleged to have received over R900 000 from corrupt activities. He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates court on Wednesday, 24 March 2021 for a formal bail application.
